چکیده
Parechovirus A1 (PeV-A1) often causes mild respiratory or gastrointestinal disease. Herein we report a case of acute heart failure due to dilated cardiomyopathy exacerbated by PeV-A1 infection in 10-month-old infant. He was brought our hospital with distress and compensated shock. Echocardiogram showed left ventricle severe mitral regurgitation, consistent cardiomyopathy. confirmed (1) positive PCR test results for PeV-A multiple anatomical sites, including blood, stool, throat, (2) the genetic sequence viral protein, (3) an increase paired serum PeV-A1-specific neutralizing antibody titers. A few, scattered reports infants young children also indicate association between myocarditis and/or infection. In conclusion, could be associated exacerbation myocardial diseases children; thus needs evaluated as cause such condition.

Improvement in cardiac energetics by perhexiline in heart failure due to dilated cardiomyopathy.
OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to determine whether short-term treatment with perhexiline improves cardiac energetics, left ventricular function, and symptoms of heart failure by altering cardiac substrate utilization. BACKGROUND Perhexiline improves exercise capacity and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) in patients with heart failure (HF). (31)P cardiac magnetic resonance spec...
متن کاملSuccessful IVIG treatment of human parechovirus-associated dilated cardiomyopathy in an infant.
Human parechoviruses (HPeVs) are closely related to human enteroviruses and exhibit many similarities in disease spectrum and symptoms. HPeV1 is most commonly associated with mild disease, but rare associations with severe disease such as myocarditis have been reported. Currently, no treatment is available for severe HPeV infections. In this case report we describe an infant with a severe, dila...
متن کاملAnaemia and renal function in heart failure due to idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy.
BACKGROUND Anaemia and renal dysfunction are common in patients with heart failure (HF). Most studies involve western cohorts with ischaemic aetiology receiving treatment likely to impair renal function. AIMS To investigate the frequency of anaemia and renal dysfunction and the relationship between the two within a cohort of 163 newly diagnosed Black African idiopathic cardiomyopathy patients...
متن کاملSurvival benefit of ghrelin in the heart failure due to dilated cardiomyopathy
Although ghrelin has been demonstrated to improve cardiac function in heart failure, its therapeutic efficacy on the life expectancy remains unknown. We aim to examine whether ghrelin can improve the life survival in heart failure using a mouse model of inherited dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) caused by a deletion mutation ΔK210 in cardiac troponin T (cTnT). From 30 days of age, ghrelin (150 μg/k...
متن کاملPrevalence of Anemia in Children with Congestive Heart Failure due to Dilated Cardiomyopathy
Introduction. Anemia is prevalent in adult heart failure patients and appears to be an independent risk factor for morbidity and mortality. The purpose of this work is to determine the prevalence of anemia in children with heart failure from dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and to evaluate its influence on morbidity and mortality. Methods. A homogenous group of 58 children with congestive heart fai...
